P-O-P LO!
After 9 weeks of BMT, this day finally arrived! In Singapore, the Passing Out Parade (POP) is regarded as a transition point from boys to becoming full-fledged men as we are now considered soldiers who are considered proficient in basic warfighting. The next phase of our military journey was vocational training where some of us will be posted to Command school where we learn how to be effective commanders (officers and specialists) while others will commence their vocational training to take on roles such as transport operators or Infantry soldiers. However, our posting results were not due to be out till a week later, two days before we were supposed to report at our new training locations. For now, it was time to demonstrate our drills, shout the BMT Roar out loud to our parents and friends and finally get to toss our jockey caps up in the air! 😊
